What are the consequences of not registering as a packer or manufacturer under Legal Metrology?

Consequences of not registering non-compliance with Rule 27 can result in:

• First offence: Fine up to ₹25,000
• Second offence: Fine up to ₹50,000
• Subsequent offences: Minimum ₹50,000, up to ₹1,00,000 or imprisonment up to 1 year or both
  These penalties apply per director, per company.
